Norseman Projects Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to being transparent about how we use cookies and similar technologies on our website www.norseman-projects.com (the “Site”).

This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies we use, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, or work more efficiently, and to provide information to the site owners.

We also use similar technologies such as web beacons, pixels, local storage, and tracking scripts — in this policy, all of these are referred to as “cookies”.

2. What cookies do we use?

We use the following types of cookies:

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are essential for the website to function properly. They do not require your consent.

  • Used for: basic site navigation, security, load balancing, remembering language preferences, etc.
  • Examples: session management, CSRF protection
  • Duration: session or short-term

Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with the Site by collecting anonymous usage information.

We use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited) to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour patterns in an anonymised form.

  • Purpose: measure site performance, understand which pages are most visited, improve user experience
  • Data collected: approximate location (country level), browser type, device type, pages viewed, time spent, referral source
  • IP addresses are anonymised before being stored (last octet masked)
  • Cookies set: _ga, _gid, _gat, and related Google Analytics cookies
  • Legal basis: your consent (you can withdraw it at any time)
  • Retention: up to 14 months (configurable in Google Analytics)
  • Google acts as our processor under UK GDPR

You can find more information in Google’s privacy notice:

We do not use cookies for advertising, personalised marketing, or behavioural profiling at this time.

3. How do we obtain your consent?

When you first visit our Site, you will see a cookie banner that explains our use of cookies and gives you the choice to:

  • Accept all cookies (analytics cookies become active)
  • Reject all non-essential cookies (analytics cookies remain disabled)
  • Manage settings (in the future we may offer more granular choices)

We use Google Consent Mode v2 to ensure that no analytics data is collected unless you give consent.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the footer of the website. This will delete the consent record and re-display the banner.

Closing the banner without making a choice is treated as a rejection of non-essential cookies.

4. How to manage or delete cookies

You can manage cookies through:

  • Our cookie banner / settings link (recommended)
  • Your browser settings (most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies)
  • Third-party tools (e.g. browser extensions)

Please note:

  • Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of the Site
  • Deleting cookies will remove your saved preferences and you may need to re-accept cookies on your next visit
